Art and architecture share spaces created by people for people and both can create or enhance environments. This connection will be explored at Groshek Gallery 2136 N. Halsted St. Chicago with current artwork from a group of artists working in a variety of media. A short presentation will be given by renowned architectural restoration specialist and sculptor Doug Freerksen during the show opening on Friday, July 22, 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Freerksen will discuss the influence of Frank Lloyd Wright and Alexander Calder. Both artists were documented extensively by photographer Pedro Guerrero and both had profound influence on Freerksen’s work. The featured artwork and discussion will explore spaces, objects and the human drive to “make things”. The show will remain in place for the month following the opening.
